 Fabrice Roy: the official bio

Born in October 1958, Fabrice Roy obtained his Scientific Baccalaureate with honors at the age of 15.

In 1979, third in his class, he obtained his Masters in Financial Management at the Neoma Business School in Rouen and carried out his national service as an officer in Germany.

At the end of 1980, he was a commercial engineer at Burroughs, where he received a solid computer training. A year later, he joined Allied Bendix Corporation as an internal auditor. For more than three years, he will be responsible for the financial and operational audits of the group's European subsidiaries.

Perfectly bilingual in English and German, he learned Italian on this occasion.
At the same time, he continued his career as a reserve officer and became lieutenant, then captain at the age of 29. He was assigned to the Gendarmerie Mobile d'Ile de France based in Satory.

In 1984, Fabrice Roy was hired as a financial analyst at WR Grace and Co. He then began a professional career of more than 25 years in this company, then, within Sealed Air Corp, one of the world leaders in food packaging and protection.

He is successively Controller, Market Manager, European Product Manager, Sales Director France / Benelux / Switzerland, Executive Director Marketing Europe, responsible for a profit center of  100 million dollars.

In 1997, he obtained his private airplane pilot license.

​

Fabrice Roy's interest in the culinary field earned him the appointment in 2007 of Global Executive Director for Sealed Air's Ready Meals business. He then managed an international team in the United States, Latin America, Europe, Singapore and Australia. In this context, he created the International Circle of Chefs (ICC) which brings together 12 Chefs from 7 countries.

In 2010, Fabrice Roy became Executive Director of Strategic Marketing for the Food Service business in Europe. With his team, he creates many innovative packaging concepts in conjunction with Alain Ducasse Formation et Conseil.

It promotes a systemic analysis of needs which is carried out in particular in a consulting activity for the benefit of Russian and Middle Eastern companies.

Between 2001 and 2011, Fabrice Roy will organize more than 31 international seminars bringing together 1,500 delegates from more than 40 countries on cutting-edge topics in the packaging of food products and ready meals.

He was elected Vice-President Communication of Elipso (French Association of Plastic and Flexible Packaging Industry) in 2009.

In July 2012, Fabrice Roy stepped down as part of the acquisition by Sealed Air of the Diversey group and the resulting restructuring.

He validates through an Executive Coach training his leadership qualities expressed in particular within the framework of a matrix and multicultural management.

At the request of the Vice-President of Ducasse Education, Fabrice Roy joined the Training and Consulting division of the Alain Ducasse Entreprise group in February 2013 as Chief Operating Officer

Throughout his career, Fabrice Roy completed his university studies with training sessions in leadership and international management, notably at IMD Lausanne in 1995 and 2002.

Expert in the methodology of project management, team management and the development of new concepts, Fabrice Roy was also trained in the Deming method of Statistical Control.

​

Passionate about lyrical singing, Fabrice Roy has been President of the Choir Region Sud Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur between 2016 and 2022, after having been chorister and treasurer of the Choir Régional Vittoria d'Ile de France, under the artistic direction of Michel Piquemal. He is since November 2022 Vice-President of the Choir in charge of communication and partnerships.

Baritone, he performs on numerous occasions the repertoire of italian Bel Canto French melody from the 19th and 20th centuries.

​

He writes, directs and performs original shows, including

  • “Valse”, musical comedy performed in the large UNESCO auditorium in Paris,

  • "Impressionists!" performed at the Montansier theater in Versailles, at the Orangerie des Tuileries on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the Great War, and at the end of the “Claude Monet” exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris

  • “Resistance”, performed at the Théâtre Montansier in Versailles with the French Army Choir.

 

Passionate about the transmission of knowledge, he has been working since 2015 in the Nice region as a consultant and coach in the restaurant and luxury hotel sector. In November 2019, he created Tourisme Culture Magazine ® Côte d'Azur and Monaco as well as the "Customer Experience Excellence - the Keys to Knowledge" training, administered to teams from hotel and restaurant chains, such as the Marriott group.

​

Press officer for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs de Monaco, he is the official journalist for the Association des Sommeliers Monégasques and media partner of the Escoffier Museum of Culinary Art,  the Chefs au Sommet in Auron, the Agecotel Salon in Nice.

​

Ambassador Côte d'Azur France, Fabrice Roy also teaches communication at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis.

​

In the field of art history, Fabrice Roy specialized in French painting over the period 1840-1930 with a predilection for the Impressionist movement. He regularly gives lectures for cultural associations such as Vu pas Vu and the Société des Arts et Lettres de Nice.

In April 2023, he is at the origin of the creation of the Society of Friends of the Fine-Arts Museum of Nice (S.A.M.B.A.N.) of which of which he took the presidency.

He published in 2019 with the Mémoires Millénaires editions a book which glorifies the products of the Alpes-Maritimes and those who cultivate them: "I cook the products of my Terroir".
